The Ladies were back starting the new ‘Little League’, on a cold morning.

After last week’s 4-1 win all the ladies were ready for the next win .

Looking over at the other team the ladies could see they looked very young and they did not seem to have a regular goalkeeper, so we were all thinking shoot, shoot, shoot .

We started slowly however, it was more like hit and run and we just couldn’t settle, the other team was the same. Unfortunately, Sophie went down with an ankle injury after 25mins, Lois coming on. With Kirsty giving some great passes out wide to Nick and Katie, nothing was working for us. Just before half-time the ladies went 1-0 down, it had been coming.

At half-time Dave had some good words and the ladies knew they could win this game if they just played the football they know how to play. Heads up and back to getting in the game.

From the start of the 2nd half the ladies started to get the ball down and playing football with Dani coming on and Nick moving into the centre with Kirsty. The back 4 was holding the line fantastically, nothing getting through them. After an hour a ball into the box to Motty’s feet saw the opposing player wanting to hold hands with her and pulled her down, Motty going down like she’d been shot got the pen. Kirsty stepping up looked calm and put the ball in the right corner making it look easy.

All the ladies were ready to win this game now, Woody getting behind the defence a few times, corners getting put in just missing heads, and we felt the goal coming. 5 mins to go Kirsty pushed the ball through to Motty who ran onto the ball and slotted it in at the far post. Fantastic 2-1 now, everyone on the pitch had Dave’s voice in their heads - game management ladies .

Fantastic win for the ladies everyone picking each other up and making sure we got the win, everyone should be proud.
