The ladies went up against a team a league above them, but that did not stop them winning the game. All the ladies were right up for the game; looking over at the other team they did not look up for it like our ladies.

From the kick-off, Borough ladies were straight away on the ball, Kirsty playing great knocks over the back four to Laura and Leah but nothing was coming off for them with their 'lineswoman' putting her flag up for everything.

South London Laces were putting the pressure on putting some good passes together, but our back four had them under control with Emma and Hannah 'R' finding time to play great passes out to the midfield. At the
other end, Kirsty had a free-kick before half-time, just putting it over.

First half was over at 0-0 and the ladies came off the pitch feeling positive knowing we were on top and could win the game.

In the second half, we were straight away on top with all ladies playing beautiful football. After 49 minutes Leah passed the ball to Motty who knocked the ball over the keeper making it 1-0; the ladies were on top.

South London Laces were putting the pressure on once again, but Sophie and Fran were putting tackles in not letting them down the right or left side. With Hannah and Emma playing fantastic in the middle they were not breaking us down.

After 57 minutes Kirsty drove with the ball down the right side, looked up and then found Motty in the box with a beautiful chip for Motty to volley it in the back of the net: 2-0.

South London Laces had a few chances but nothing came from them. The ladies calmed the game down with fantastic passing, Charlie driving forward in the middle, and Kirsty clipped the bar from another free-kick. By the end of the match, everyone on the pitch was tired but not one of them gave up, pushing hard to the very end.

What a win for the ladies and what a game, bring on round two of the cup.
