WE PLAYED FOOTBALL!

After Thursday's downpour and with a double-header scheduled at home, we were all assuming it would be another washout. Then, there was hope! Mutterings across south-west London had spread suggesting that the pitches at Barn Elms would be playable. Yet we refused to believe. Aggy was on his 5th glass of wine, Duncan and Seamus were heading out for a wild night, we were expecting nothing on Saturday. All of a sudden, the game was on! Yet the lads didn't put their drinks down and Tecwyn spent a fun Friday evening scrambling a squad together.

Then the football ?. You could tell we hadn't played for a while, very sloppy and disorganised compared to the impressive Witan. 3-1 down at half-time, having actually played ok going forward but the defending gave poor Willmer no chance in goal. The second half of game one petered out for a 4-1 win to Witan.
