INTO THE TOP HALF FOR CHRISTMAS

On a wet Friday night ahead of our important league match the next day there were many drunken (hopeful) messages floating around on the WhatsApp group asking if the game would be off. The joys of December football!

We ended up turning out a strong 14, confident of a result to cap off a decent first half of the season. The confidence soon waned after finding ourselves 2-0 down in the first 20 minutes from 2 very sloppy goals. Despite not being at our best we were still the more threatening team. We managed to pull a goal back after an excellent lob from distance from Sam White who spotted the keeper off his line.

We were more than confident of completing the turn around in the second half and duly did. Goals from White and a long-overdue first for Mark Pringle put us ahead. There were some hairy moments at 3-2 but we held out without too much alarm. The returning from the naughty step Seamus Brennan capped things off with a very well taken 4th which was the last kick of the game.

Still in the league running and a cup semi-final to look forward to. All up for grabs in the New Year!
