Off the back of what looked to be a season-turning-point of a victory over bottom of the league, Borough 3s went into their next bottom-of-the-table clash against the team above buoyant and expectant.
Things started well with Wandsworth looking the better side, and they were unfortunate to find themselves one behind early on. Not to be disheartened, the Mighty 3s showed spirit to keep themselves in contention and were deservedly next on the score sheet.
A through ball from Wallace found striker Cozens-Smith offside, but the striker held off allowing Smith to break through the static defence and knock past the advancing keeper to level the scores.
Over the balance of the half Borough remained the better side and looked good to score a second, Cozens-Smith in particular unfortunate not to fire the hosts ahead.
The second half brought more of the same, with the pressure finally telling when Werger was played through on goal and scythed down by Wokingians' keeper. After a nervy spell pacing up and down with the ball whilst waiting for the keeper to be coaxed back to consciousness, Smith dispatched the penalty to put his side ahead at 2-1.
Not to unduly revel in their oppositions misfortunes, but Woking's subsequent need to replace their woozy keeper looked set to improve Borough's fortunes, as the sub keeper seemed set on using feet rather than hands during his tenure in sticks.
Unfortunately the replacement soon found his feet (hands) and put on a quality performance, denying Borough a couple of opportunities to see themselves double the lead.
Then, as only to be expected in this bad-luck-ridden season the 3s are having, they blinked and found themselves at the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline after a brief flash of chances for Woking saw the game turned on its head.
At this point it would have been easy for Borough heads to drop, but to their credit they showed real spirit and refused to lie down. This attitude paid off swiftly as they came right back with Cozens-Smith teeing Werger up for Borough's third to level the scores at 3 apiece.
With minutes to play the 3s pushed for the winner, coming close to finding it not once but twice, yet unfortunately the clock ran out on 3-3.
Another draw for the draw specialists and an uphill climb now to pull themselves clear of the drop in their remaining 4 games.
