To be fair, the form guide does indicate a weekly cycle of draw-defeat-draw-defeat, so bear that in mind for this week's Super 8.

Despite not starting at quite full throttle, the Mighty 3s were in the game throughout and were unlucky to be 2 down at half-time. Two unfortunate errors led to two Shene goals: one of these an own goal from man of the match Laban, seemingly trying to fill in for Vice-Captain Andrews in his absence. And where was he, you say? That's right, the Lord Mayor's parade. Don't ask.

Fighting through some of the worst rain since biblical times, the Borough refused to bow down and came out scrapping after half-time. They bossed the game for 45 minutes, Shene looking rattled and the reds looking dangerous.

A break came when Pytlos fed Smith in through a gap in the defence: the skipper fired across the goal to pull his team back into the game and set up a tense finish.

Unfortunately the second was not to be, and again the 3s left the field having performed well and deserving more.
