The home side started the game brightly and although competitive, the game hadn't really opened up when the Crosebians' handy Akinfenwa-esque striker had a lazy swing at the ball from outside the area, taking a deflection off Galvin to put dip and spin on it, to creep just inside the post. Borough rallied and quickly and deservedly got themselves back in the game. Another quality delivery from Richards found Grant relatively free to nod home from close range, on his way to a deserved MoM.

Borough became more confident on the ball after equalising and with Grant and Nihil getting the ball out wide to Richards and Hearty, and with the work rate of Morel and Allan up top, half-time probably came a bit too soon.

The Reds started the second half where they left off and started to dominate the game. After an injection of additional impetus from the bench with Purdue and Wallace in attack, the ball was worked wide to Hearty to deliver for Grant's second of the game.

From that point on, the 3s clicked all over the pitch. The defence were rock solid and working the ball well through to midfield and the front four, now with O'Brien for extra width began making half chances at will. The away side didn't even get into Borough box for the last 15 minutes.

Nothing giveth and taketh like football. With 20 seconds to go, a long punt upfield went out of play for a red throw, the ref didn't agree and the home side broke into the box causing panic which resulted in a penalty to Crosebians - duly despatched - 2-2 with pretty much the last kick.

Borough were brilliant. Football can go to hell.
